Aamir Khan Unveils Upcoming Project ‘Sitare Zameen Par’ Inspired by ‘Taare Zameen Par’
Aamir Khan, the illustrious actor-filmmaker, has revealed his next venture, ‘Sitare Zameen Par,’ drawing inspiration from his iconic 2007 film ‘Taare Zameen Par.’ In a recent interview, Khan offered a glimpse into his upcoming project. ‘Taare Zameen Par,’ which marked Aamir Khan’s directorial debut, made waves in 2007 as it delved into the life and imagination of Ishaan, an 8-year-old dyslexic child. In addition to his directorial role, Khan played a pivotal character in the film, which was scripted by Amole Gupte. ‘Taare Zameen Par’ garnered critical acclaim and was honored with a National Award.
In an interview with News18, Aamir Khan shared, “I have not discussed it publicly, and I won’t be able to reveal too much at this point. However, I can disclose the title. The film is titled ‘Sitare Zameen Par.’ You may remember my film ‘Taare Zameen Par,’ and the title of this film is ‘Sitare Zameen Par’ because we are taking the same theme a step further. ‘Taare Zameen Par’ was an emotional film. This one will make you laugh, unlike its predecessor, which brought tears.” Aamir further explained, “Nevertheless, the underlying theme remains unchanged. This is why we chose the title thoughtfully. We all possess imperfections and weaknesses, but we also have unique strengths. Therefore, we are advancing this theme, but this time, in ‘Taare Zameen Par,’ my character assisted the special child Ishaan. In ‘Sitare Zameen Par,’ it’s the other way around.”
According to PTI, Aamir will also take on a producing role for this upcoming film.

‘Taare Zameen Par’ featured Darsheel Safary as Ishaan Awasthi, a child grappling with dyslexia, with Aamir Khan in the role of art teacher Ram Shankar Nikumbh. The movie beautifully illustrated Ishaan’s life and vibrant imagination, which was initially misinterpreted due to his academic struggles. Nikumbh, the art teacher, becomes instrumental in helping Ishaan overcome his reading disorder. ‘Taare Zameen Par’ graced theaters on December 21, 2007, achieving remarkable commercial success with global earnings of ₹1.35 billion. With ‘Sitare Zameen Par,’ Aamir Khan intends to continue exploring the theme of human imperfections and unique talents, promising an entertaining and uplifting cinematic experience for his audience.
