Musk has invested $44 billion on Twitter and became the CEO in October and in December he said he will give his position to “someone foolish enough to take the job.” He said he will willingly run the software and servers team of the said social media platform.
Musk in his Tweet has kept the name anonymous who will fill the position but Yaccarino is referred to as his choice as per the discussions among tech and media insiders this Thursday. She is the top advertising sales executive at NBCUniversal and was already in conversation with Musk. Last month Musk was in Miami for an advertising conference where Yaccarino welcomed Musk to the conference with a loud cheer from the present audience and praised him for his work ethic.
“Many of you in this room know me, and you know I pride myself on my work ethic,” she said, adding, “Buddy, I met my match.”
Yaccarino joined NBCU in the year 2011 after serving for Turner Entertainment for 15 long years and is credited for the digital future of networks’ ad sales operation. Among the few people who were in talks for the position were Former Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, former YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, and a top executive at Musk’s brain-chip startup Neuralink, Shivon Zilis.
