Since Elon Musk took over Twitter (now called X) in October 2022, he has been making rapid modifications to the network. Musk has altered the social media site, whether it’s the all-new Twitter Blue service or the ability to publish extended tweets and videos, and he has no plans to stop anytime soon. He’s been talking about making X, the “everything app,” for a long time, and he wants the platform to let users do much more than just share their opinions with the world. According to recent rumours, the billionaire is reportedly planning to remove headlines from news articles posted on Twitter. This is apparently done to minimize tweet height and allow more tweets to fit in a user’s timeline.
According to Fortune, Musk plans to eliminate headlines from news articles posted on X in the near future. Twitter is currently the go-to source of information for its users, with thousands of news stories shared on the network by individuals and organizations alike. This change means that when you share a link on X, it will just display an image and a URL overlay. There will be no news about it. By contrast, clicking on the link will take the user to the publisher’s website. If you want to include a headline, you must manually enter it as text alongside the shared link.

According to Fortune, the decision to make the adjustment was Musk’s idea. According to the source, the rationale for this modification appears to be to reduce the vertical space that a tweet takes up on the user’s screen. More postings will be able to fit into the timeline that users view on their screens as a result of this. Furthermore, Musk feels that this will help eliminate clickbait. “It’s something Elon desires.” The source told the publication, “They were running it by advertisers who didn’t like it, but it’s happening.”
Musk also encouraged writers to publish directly on the platform in order to gain more freedom and greater compensation’ in a recent tweet. “If you’re a journalist who wants more freedom to write and a higher income, then publish directly on this platform,” he said. In contrast, the Twitter owner stated in a Sunday post that there are no great social networking platforms right now. Musk stated in a tweet, “The sad truth is that there are no great “social networks” right now.” He did, however, add that they are attempting to construct one.
Many users chastised Musk when he rebranded Twitter as X. They simply weren’t ready to say goodbye to the iconic blue bird with which they had grown up. Some even predicted that the platform would fail spectacularly and that all users would migrate to another platform. Recognizing all of this, Musk added in a tweet that while they may fail to create X, as many have predicted, they would still attempt to ensure that there is at least one (excellent social media network). “We may fail, as many have predicted, but we will do everything we can to ensure that there is at least one,” he wrote. X CEO Linda Yaccarino retweeted Musk’s tweet, writing, “There is an important place in the world for X.”
According to recent reports, X may soon allow its customers to search for job posts online. According to an IANS report, Twitter users will soon have access to a job-search function that would allow them to discover jobs on the network.
