Instagram now allow users to make feed and reels only visible to close friends; here is how

In addition to Stories and Notes, Instagram is extending its Close pals feature to let users share Reels and posts with a chosen set of pals. Mark Zuckerberg revealed the updated version on Wednesday, saying that users would now have greater control over the material they publish on Instagram and their privacy.

Similar to Stories, only other people on the Close Friends list will be able to see likes and comments on Reels and Posts shared with Close Friends. The producers stand to gain from the enlarged feature set, as it will allow them to share unique material with subscribers who are ready to pay.

In the meantime, Instagram is adding new features to improve privacy and user experience. Recently, Instagram Reels now have the ability to include song lyrics, just like Stories on the Meta-owned network. In order to make advantage of this function, choose a song, hit the lyrics button when editing your reel, and swipe left to add lyrics.

Additionally, users may choose whether or not others can see when they have viewed their direct messages thanks to a new feature that Instagram is testing. A new feature on Instagram would allow users to hide read receipts for direct messages, much as the ‘turn off read receipts’ option on WhatsApp.
