Jio MAMI Film Festival 2023 to Kick Off with Kareena Kapoor’s ‘Unveiling ‘The Buckingham Murders’

Kareena Kapoor has been enjoying the triumph of “Jaane Jaan,” her digital debut. The actress is preparing for her upcoming film, “The Buckingham Murders,” following her accomplishment. The 67th BFI London Film Festival hosted the world premiere of Hansal Mehta’s film.

‘THE BUCKINGHAM MURDERS’ PREMIERS IN LONDON

Thrilled by the news, Kareena Kapoor posted a few stills from the movie on Instagram and mentioned how her dream role has always been to portray Jasmeet Bhamra. Kareena sent a long statement in which she looked back on her experience working with Hansal and Ektaa on the movie.

“I’ve been a huge fan of detective series for the past 23 years, and I’ve been waiting to play the role of Jas. I’ve watched everything from Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot to Kate Winslet’s Mare of Easttown. I was dying to be that detective woman.” I knew I had found the woman I wanted to be when I began reading the 25-page synopsis that Hansal and Ekta had sent me at one in the morning.

She continued, “Ekta, Hansal, and I embarked on this adventure to create a film that is heartfelt, a little humorous, and, oh my gosh, a lot of tears… Last night, it was screened at the British Film Institute. As this movie embarks on its voyage… in the realm of cinema… I am both enthusiastic and scared about becoming an actor and a first-time producer. I feel really great writing that, but I feel so strange doing it. So, allow me to share with you all a peek at this creation we made: the realm of Jas Bhamra. It is my sincere hope that Jas’s journey has not yet come to an end. It has been an incredible pleasure to follow this amazing, resilient woman whose pain knew no bounds.

Along with sharing a few stills from the movie featuring Kareena, Ektaa Kapoor also expressed gratitude, saying, “The London premiere of #thebuckinghammurders has been overwhelming! Congratulations to director Saab @hansalmehta and co-producer @kareenakapoorkhan! Thrilled to be grateful.

Kareena’s production The Buckingham Murders is her first as a producer. Ektaa Kapoor has provided the film’s financial backing.

ON THE WORK FRONT

Following her disastrous box office performance in Aamir Khan’s “Laal Singh Chaddha,” Kareena will be making her big-screen comeback with this film. Her most recent appearance was in the Netflix thriller “Jaane Jaan,” which was also her first online film. Sujoy Ghosh is the director, and Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat play important parts.
