Launch of Chandrayaan-3: Live updates

The lunar mission of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) named Chandrayaan-3 is scheduled to be launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The set date and timing for the take-off is 14th July, Friday at 2.35 PM IST.

After Chandrayan-2 the mission of Chandrayan-3 is a hope for the scientists involved to showcase the abilities that involve reaching the orbit of the moon. The mission aims at a soft landing over the surface of the moon with the help of a lander and a rover that will emerge from the lander to study the moon’s surface.

According to the scientists, after 16 minutes of take-off scheduled to be at 2:35 pm IST, it is presumed that there will be a separation of the propulsion module from the rocket. It would orbit the Earth in an elliptical cycle for around 5-6 times. From the Earth, it will be as close as 170 km and farthest up to 36,500 km. The live event is getting streamed on the official YouTube channel of ISRO at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCw5hEVOTfz_AfzsNFWyNlNg

The “Fat boy” LVM3-M4 rocket will carry the mission to the moon.

Actors like Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, and Suniel Shetty have supported and admired the ISRO scientists through their respective social media platforms. The launch is receiving support from the entire nation and has raised anticipation and enthusiasm among the people.

A unique book launched ahead of the mission at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre today. The book, ‘Prism: The Ancestral Abode of Rainbow’ released is a collection of science articles by the National award-winning filmmaker-writer Vinod Mankara.
