According to the Wall Street Journal, Linda Yaccarino will become Twitter’s next CEO today. Yaccarino, who previously worked at NBC, has also engaged her trusted advisor Joe Benarroch to help construct Elon Musk’s ‘Twitter 2.0’. Benarroch was welcomed by the new Twitter CEO in a tweet. Musk, on the other hand, will have more time to devote to his other businesses, Tesla and Space X. Musk previously stated in a tweet that, while he will no longer be CEO of Twitter, his ‘role will move to being exec chair and CTO, managing product, software, and sysops’.
Benarroch stated on LinkedIn that he is excited to contribute his knowledge to Twitter and work with the team to construct Musk’s Twitter 2.0. “Tomorrow, I begin a different professional adventure at Twitter, taking on a role focusing on business operations,” he wrote on Sunday. It’s been an absolute honor to work with Linda and our leadership team at NBCUniversal, where I’ve been able to support and scale our business priorities, create meaningful advocacy, and help build incredible collaborations across the entire industry. “I am excited to bring my experience to Twitter and to collaborate with the entire team to build Twitter 2.0 together.”
Yaccarino also tweeted to welcome her old NBC colleague to Twitter.
“Welcome to the flock, @benarroch_joe!” she wrote. From one bird to another. Let’s get started, @Twitter! #timetofly.” Linda will take over as Twitter’s new CEO in a few weeks, it was announced last month. Even before her formal appointment as Twitter CEO, reports indicated that Yaccarino will take over.
Finally, on May 12, Musk revealed his appointment as the new CEO of Twitter, and the public was captivated. “I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter!” he said, welcoming her to the company. @LindaYacc will be primarily responsible for commercial operations, while I will be responsible for product design and new technology. I’m excited to collaborate with Linda to transform this platform into X, the all-in-one app.”
Linda Yaccarino stated in response to Musk’s tweet welcoming her to the new post, “I’ve long been inspired by your vision to create a brighter future.” I’m thrilled to be a part of bringing this vision to Twitter and transforming the company together!” In another tweet, she stated that while she is not ‘as fulfilling as Musk’ on this platform yet, she is dedicated to constructing Musk’s Twitter 2.0.
