Sunil Chhetri, the captain of the Indian Men’s football team, has become the fourth-highest goal scorer. He has created history in men’s football by making a hattrick goal against Pakistan during the SAFF Championship opener that happened in Bengaluru this Wednesday at the Sree Kanteerava

The total goal made by Chhetri is now 90 in 138 matches after his marvellous performance and he has crossed Mokhtar Dahari of Malaysia who scored 89 goals in four more games.

The Indian captain’s score changed the game in just 10 mins when he leveraged an error made by the goalkeeper of Pakistan Saqib Hanif. Chhetri doubled the lead as soon as there was a penalty after 6 mins.

Chettri’s number of goals is just 14 goals away from what FIFA World Cup 2022 winner Lionel Messi and five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo have scored. They are the third-highest active goal scorer in international men’s football.
