The Threads web version is already up, and Mark Zuckerberg claims that users will be able to use it soon

Meta revealed Elon Musk’s Twitter competitor Threads, a new text-based social networking platform, at the beginning of the month. Threads’ formal release piqued the interest of users who had been following the app’s progress for quite some time. Threads users can instantly sign in with their Instagram credentials and start exposing their ideas to the world.

The app had 100 million sign-ups within 5 days of its introduction, making it one of the fastest-growing social networking platforms. However, rumors circulated a few weeks after Threads’ launch claiming the site had lost more than half of its subscribers. Threads were said to be working on an online version in order to retain users. Meta has now formally launched the web version.

The web version of Meta’s new social media program has been officially announced. CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated the web version would be available shortly in a thread on the social media site Threads. Users could only see single postings on Threads before today, and there was no option to interact with the post in any way. That will soon change. He captioned a picture, “Actual footage of me developing Threads for the web. launching in the coming days.”

According to The Verge, users of Threads will be able to publish, comment on other threads, and check their feeds with the upgraded version. The UI of the web version is believed to be identical to that of the app, with a few small tweaks here and there. The page will feature navigation icons at the top and a small toggle button on the bottom left to switch between the For You and Following feeds.
