Adobe Introduces Cutting-Edge AI Models for Generating Vector Graphics and Design Templates from Text Prompts

New Firefly models for commercial usage and more than 100 new AI features for Adobe’s products were unveiled by the company at the start of its annual Adobe MAX conference in Los Angeles. With the use of text prompts, users may now create vector images and editable design templates for the first time. These tools are primarily intended for creators and designers. Adobe has been integrating generative AI with its popular tools, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Express, and others, and these announcements are in line with their previous efforts.

The CEO of Adobe, Shantanu Narayen, stated during his keynote address at Adobe Max 2023 that the company’s technologies now had the strength and accuracy to meet users’ specific needs. According to him, Adobe is attempting to include these capabilities into your processes in order to provide the necessary creativity. Additionally, he declared that this summer will see a record-breaking amount of Adobe product releases.

The Adobe Firefly Image 2 Model, Adobe Firefly Vector Model, and Adobe Firefly Design Model are the three new Firefly models.

Firefly Image 2 Model

The next version of generative AI for images is called the Firefly Image 2 Model. It expands upon the original beta model that was introduced in March and, according to Adobe, has been utilized by over 3 billion people worldwide—that too in a record amount of time. The goal of the second-generation model is to increase the generated images’ accuracy. It will produce illustrations and pictures of greater quality, especially enhancing human features like hands, eyes, hair, skin, and body structure. According to Adobe, the model will give customers more control over output in addition to enhanced colors and dynamic range. Text prompts in more than 100 languages will be supported by the model, and new subscription plans with “fast” Generative Credit allocation will be available.

Firefly Vector Model

The world’s first generative AI model for vector graphics, the Firefly Vector Model in Illustrator converts text to vector graphics using Firefly’s capabilities. The beta version of this model will be made accessible at first. According to Adobe, the graphics created with this paradigm will be easily editable and reusable because they are compact, grouped, and editable.

Firefly Design Model

The Adobe Express now has text-to-template functionality thanks to the Firefly Design Model. using the use of text prompts, users will be able to create fully editable design templates using this new approach. Adobe Stock, Adobe Fonts, and Firefly Image Model will be combined to create these layouts. They can be utilized for print, social media, and online advertising and will be offered in all popular aspect ratios.

According to Prativa Mohapatra, vice president and managing director of Adobe India, “Generative AI today represents the next frontier for businesses to build personalized customer experiences at scale without adding more complexity to their operations.” He continued by saying that the new tools unveiled at Adobe Max would make it possible for both consumers and organizations to become productive by creating content experiences that are precise, individualized, scalable, and secure for use in commercial settings.

In order to lower the cost of operating these models, Adobe is also collaborating with other companies. It is collaborating with businesses such as Nvidia and Mattel to enhance these models and increase their use.

“Adobe’s creative tools are still a vital component of Mattel’s design processes, even for well-known brands like Barbie and Hot Wheels. From ideation to execution, Adobe Firefly has improved our workflows with reliable features that drive inspiration and productivity,” said Chris Down, executive vice president and chief design officer at Mattel.”

In addition to these models, the business has launched 100 new features for all Creative Cloud apps, such as web-based workflows and Firefly-powered capabilities in Illustrator and Photoshop, AI-powered editing in Lightroom, and a new Generative Fill function that prioritizes AI.
