Bollywood luminary Madhuri Dixit was bestowed with the ‘Special Recognition for Bharatiya Cinema’ award at the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) held in Goa. The nine-day cinematic extravaganza kicked off at the Shyam Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium on November 20. The prestigious award was presented in acknowledgment of Madhuri’s remarkable four-decade-long contribution to Indian cinema.
Anurag Thakur, Union Sports and Information & Broadcasting Minister, expressed admiration for the actor’s versatile talent, praising her iconic roles, from the effervescent Nisha to the captivating Chandramukhi and beyond. Adding to the glitz of IFFI Goa 2023, the opening ceremony will feature a dazzling performance by Bollywood stars Madhuri Dixit and Shahid Kapoor. The duo will not only grace the event but also enthrall the audience with their live performances to some of their hit songs. The star-studded guest list includes prominent figures such as Sara Ali Khan, Pankaj Tripathi, Vijay Sethupathi, Sunny Deol, Karan Johar, Shreya Ghoshal, Shantanu Moitra, and Sukhwinder Singh.
