The nine-day cinematic extravaganza kicked off at the Shyam Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium on November 20. The prestigious award was presented in acknowledgment of Madhuri’s remarkable four-decade-long contribution to Indian cinema.

Anurag Thakur, Union Sports and Information & Broadcasting Minister, expressed admiration for the actor’s versatile talent, praising her iconic roles, from the effervescent Nisha to the captivating Chandramukhi and beyond. In his social media post, Thakur wrote, “Today, we are filled with admiration as we present the ‘Special Recognition for Contribution to Bharatiya Cinema’ Award to the talented, charismatic actress who has redefined excellence in cinema.” He highlighted the celebration of an extraordinary journey and a tribute to an everlasting legacy.
