The 95th Academy awards will be held on March 12 (March 13 in India). At the event RRR song Naatu Naatu will be performed and the Academy has confirmed that the Oscar-nominated song will be performed on stage by the Oscar debutant singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava. However, there is no information for Ram Charan or Jr NTR to join them.
Naatu Naatu is one of the most memorable and loved compositions of Keeravaani and was written by Chandrabose from SS Rajamouli’s action epic movie RRR. With its catchy tune and amazing dance moves by actors Ram Charan and N.T. Rama Rao Jr., singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava will head to the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles to perform the song.
The song has various adaptations and was released in different languages like Naacho Naacho in Hindi, Naattu Koothu in Tamil, Halli Naatu in Kannada, and Karinthol in Malayalam. The song was shot a few months prior to the Russian military invasion of Ukraine at the Mariinsky Palace (Ukraine Presidential Palace) in Kyiv. Naatu Naatu has become a viral sensation with over 122 views on YouTube.
The song has bagged a few major awards like Golden Globes award in the Best Original Song category in January, the Best Song at the 28th edition of the Critics Choice Awards, along with Best Foreign Language Film.
The song is also nominated against This Is A Life from Everything Everywhere All at Once, Applause from Tell It Like a Woman, Lift Me Up from Black Panther, and others in the best original song category. There are performances of Rihana on Lift Me Up and David Byrne, Stephanie Hsu, and Son Lux on This Is a Life on Oscar night.
This year the host of the award ceremony will be Jimmy Kimmel.
Alia Bhatt played an important role in RRR along with Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, and Olivia Morris. She recently performed on stage on Naatu Naatu song in a white saree at an awards event.
