Today, June 16, Prabhas’ Adipurush has finally been released after numerous delays and disputes. Early morning shows at 4 am in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh sold out, as crowds cheered Prabhas’ entry as Lord Ram in Adipurush. After the first show, the film’s initial reviews have already gone viral on Twitter. Online commenters described Adipurush as both Prabhas’ comeback and a “modern retelling of the Ramayana.”
On June 16, Adipurush was released in theatres too much anticipation. Om Raut, the director, released the movie in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada in both 2D and 3D. Twitter users used the social media network to express their excitement and their reviews for the movie as the first day of showings drew to an end. Others believed that movies like Adipurush’ shouldn’t be criticized, but just be admired,’ while some referred to it as Prabhas’ return movie.
The mythical story Adipurush, which Om Raut wrote and directed, is based on the Ramayana by Valmiki. Prabhas plays Lord Ram in the movie, while Kriti Sanon plays Sita and Saif Ali Khan plays Raavan.
