Six fatalities and 1,767 new Covid cases were reported in Delhi today, which is 15% more than yesterday (1,537) and has a positive rate of 28.63%. The additional deaths brought Delhi’s total number of pandemic deaths to 26,578. On Tuesday, there were 1,537 new COVID-19 cases reported in the nation’s capital, with a positive rate of 26.54 percent. On January 16, the number of COVID-19 cases reached zero for the first time since the pandemic’s start. However, over the past two weeks, there has been an increase in instances throughout the city. On April 11, mock drills were held at Delhi hospitals to determine how well-prepared they were to handle COVID-19.
Omicron sub-variant XBB.1.16 may be the cause of the city’s recent increase in cases, according to medical specialists. They have stressed that there is no need to worry and that individuals should act in a Covid-appropriate manner and receive their booster shots. Saurabh Bharadwaj, the health minister for Delhi, stated last week that XBB.1.16 does not cause a serious infection in kids.
