On Christmas Morning, Santa Gave an amazing gift to India. It won the Test series by 188 runs with Bangladesh. The whole match looked lost. The target against Bangladesh was 145 runs, and more than half of the team went back to Pavillion with only 74 runs. It was very difficult to achieve the goal but the fantabulous performance of Ravichandran Ashwin and Shreyas Iyer changed from impossible to possible and India won the match and hold the series in its hand. Ashwin (42 Runs) and Iyer(29 Runs) rescued India by delivering 71 runs with an unbroken partnership and beat Bangladesh. Ashwin again becomes the team India Hero.
From this win, India fixes his second position on DWT Record. The 71-runs-unbeaten partnership is a record for the 8th wicket in the fourth innings in a winning cause in a test match. It chased the record of 52 Runs partnership with Inzamam ul Haq and Rashid Latif for Pakistan vs Australia at Karachi in 1994.
Kl Rahul, who led India in absence of Indian team Captain Rohit Sharma, says that everyone contributed well to the team but Ashwin and Shreyas batted beautifully and chased the game with ease. Man of the match goes to Ashwin, who picked up six wickets and scored 42 not out in India’s second inning.
