Director Abhishek Pathak‘s Drishyam 2 is a runaway hit

Drishyam 2 which is a remake of the Malayalam movie, directed by Abhishek Pathak is officially a major hit. The business is rising after earning approximately Rs.70 crores (gross) over the first weekend.

During the weekend, more shows were added in multiplexes and single theaters across the country. Even theaters like Maxus Borivalli are running early 6 am shows.

The success of this movie is unbelievable for the director Abhishek Pathak whose earlier work was a small comical movie on baldness “Ujda Chaman”.

The director said, “It is overwhelming! I knew I made an honest film that was not a blind remake of the original. Everyone in my team worked really hard on this. But the audience’s love is amazing and beyond all expectations. I am really happy.” He expected that the first-day collection will be good but afterward the response to the movie is unexpected for him.

On Day1 Drishyam earned Rs.15 Crore net and with a jump of a massive 40 percent, it raised to Rs.21 crore net on Day2. On day 3 the earnings are expected to be 25-27 crores net.
