Microsoft, a tech company, has declared that PCs running Windows 7 will no longer get any support from Microsoft. Windows 7 was released on 22 October 2009 and Microsoft had committed to providing ten years of product support for Windows 7. These ten years ended on January 14, 2020, but the Company gave the option to continue receiving security support through ESU Program (Extended Security Updates) now while completing its 13 years journey. Microsoft winded up its path entirely and intended their investment towards new technology. It is still famous among users.
According to the report, around 400 million devices run globally on Windows 7 without knowing they are at higher risk of viruses and malware. The Company pleads to the population to upgrade their PCs and laptops to Windows 10 Operating System which was launched on 29th July 2015, and it is one of the single platforms for all the devices like desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and all-in-one devices. They have also announced the price for Windows 10 Home that is Rs 9,299, while the Windows 10 Pro is Rs. 14,999 for a single license for a PC. Microsoft now plans to focus on Windows 10 in the forthcoming years to make it best for all devices.
