As the Pathaan craze overtook the country on Sunday, Shah Rukh Khan made a magnificent appearance from the top of Mannat, his official residence, to greet hundreds of his fans. Pathaan day 5 box office collection revealed how the film, which also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, had crossed Rs. 500 crore globally, prompting Shah Rukh to salute his fans. The film was also the fastest to achieve Rs. 250 crore, surpassing previous records held by KGF 2, Bahubali 2, and Dangal, among others.
Shah Rukh shared a video of himself on Twitter and added, “Mehmaan Nawaazi Pathaan ke ghar par… I’d like to thank all of my Mehmaans for making my Sunday so loving. Grateful. Happy and Loved. The statement about Mehmaan Nawaazi was obviously lifted from Shah Rukh’s most recent film. Shah Rukh is seen saying, “Party Pathaan ke ghar rakhoge toh mehmaan-nawazi ke liye Pathaan toh aayega,” in the original conversation.
Shah Rukh’s video received largely positive feedback from followers, but one user complained to Mumbai police about Shah Rukh fans obstructing the road. In response, the Mumbai Police requested more information from the complainant regarding his complaint.
In the meantime, Taran Adarsh, a trade analyst for Bollywood, tweeted that Pathaan has surpassed previous benchmarks set by some of the biggest blockbusters of recent memory to become the fastest Bollywood film to earn Rs. 250 crore in India.
