Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi while he was in India to talk about the future of AI in India and its drawbacks. When speaking at the Digital India Dialogues event at IIIT Delhi, Altman revealed details of his encounter with Modi. He said the Prime Minister’s meeting was nice since Modi was very enthusiastic and thoughtful about artificial intelligence (AI).
Altman said that the meeting was fantastic and enjoyable as he expressed his happiness with it. He valued Modi’s passion and his insightful observations on the advantages of AI. Altman also questioned India’s early and enthusiastic adoption of ChatGPT, an AI chatbot from OpenAI. Modi responded admirably. “Great conversation with @narendramodi discussing India’s incredible tech ecosystem and how the country can benefit from AI,” said Altman on Twitter, posting a photo of his encounter with Modi. “Really enjoyed all my meetings with people in the @PMOIndia,” he added.
