Train mishap once Again in Odisha: Fire Breaks out in AC compartment

The recent train accident in Odisha shocked the nation but yet again disaster followed on Thursday night. In the Ac compartment of the Durg-Puri Express, train number 18426 fire broke out at the Khariar Road station. In the Nuapada district, the incident happened around 10 pm.

The accident was the result of the failure of the release of the brakes of coach B3 after the alarm chain was pulled (ACP). The failure caused friction and the brake pads caught fire. The East Coast Railway reported no casualties as the fire was limited to the brake pads. Later the problem was resolved and the train was ready to be on its route at 11 pm.

Six laborers were killed in Odisha by a goods train

In a recent accident on June 7, the goods train run over six laborers and left two others critically injured in Odisha’s Jajpur Keonjhar Road railway station. It is said that the laborers were under the goods train as shelter from heavy rain but the train started rolling.

The shocking accident of Coromandel Express

In the accident, 278 people were killed and about 1100 were injured. The three trains Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, the Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express, and a goods train crashed among themselves. In recent times this was a major accident that happened near the Bahanaga Baazar station in the Balasore district on June 2 around 7 pm.

Most of the coaches of the 12864 Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express derailed and had fallen o the running parallel track which was hit by a goods train and Coromandel Express. Rescue operations were assigned and gas cutters were used to bring out dead bodies and injured from the debris.
