On Day 2 of the test match, Virat Kohli was not in the limelight as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma scored centuries, and India was in the driver’s seat because of them. But another milestone is added to Kohli’s kitty, and he left behind Virendra Sehwag, the best opener of India. On Thursday, Kohli scored unbeaten 36 runs and was listed in the top 5 Test batters and created history in Indian cricket.
On Day 2 Kohli surpassed Sehwag (8503) to be on the elite list at the 5th spot as one of the top run-getters for India in the test cricket. His position in the list is behind the legendary cricketers Sachin Tendulkar (15921), Rahul Dravid (13265), Sunil Gavaskar (10122) and VVS Laxman (8781).
Through the final session, Virat Kohli (36 not out) and Jaiwal played the match consciously despite a few anxious moments.
There is a prediction for rain during the final two days match and it is expected that India will beat West Indies and will bring a new cycle of the World Test Championship with maximum points.
Jaiswal has played a wonderful innings. He is the third highest in the debutant list in test cricket after Shikar Dhawan (187) and Sharma himself (177). The 21-year-old cricketer is full of immense talent and can concentrate on his game and adapt himself according to the requirements of test cricket.
