Google to Slash Down 12,000 Workers | Affected Employees started to receive emails

Google’s parent company Alphabet has announced that it is going to cut 12,000 jobs. Google CEO, Sundar Pichai has said it will reduce 6% of the workforce after the company has taken a ‘rigorous review across product areas.’ They have made sure that the current roles are aligned with the highest priority of the company.
Some of the affected employees are started to get emails already whereas the rest of the workforce will be informed soon. Till now, it is still not clear which department has been most affected by the decision to mass layoff.
All the affected employees will get full payment for their notice period of 60 days. Mr. Pichai also assured in the letter that the transition will be smooth. The workers will receive their entitled bonuses and healthcare.
Pichai also added that the company will hold a townhall on Monday to address their employees about this layoff. In the letter, Pichai published; “As an almost 25-year-old company, we’re bound to go through difficult economic cycles. These are important moments to sharpen our focus, reengineer our cost base, and direct our talent and capital to our highest priorities.
