The year 2023 is here with Bollywood’s first wedding of Actress Athiya Shetty, daughter of Actor Suniel Shetty with the Indian cricketer KL Rahul today i.e. on January 23. They will reportedly tie the knot at 4 pm today and later in the evening will pose for the paparazzi. The pre-wedding festivities started on Sunday at Suniel Shetty’s Khandala farmhouse. Their sangeet ceremony was attended by 70 guests.
After their wedding, KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty will host a grand reception in Mumbai as well as in Bengaluru. If reports are to be believed, around 3000 guests will be invited for the Mumbai reception. This will be attended by not just Bollywood or sports celebrities but top politicians and entrepreneurs.
Amongst several videos from the sangeet ceremony of the couple going viral on social media, a new upload saw guests dancing to the popular wedding track, “Mujhse Shaadi Karogi”. The video was recorded from a distance because of which it is unclear whether the star couple also shook their legs on the same track.
KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty are also trending on Twitter where fans are sending wishes for the couple. One of the fans wrote, “ Finally…..Rahiya’s wedding day is here ♥️”.

Several videos of the sangeet ceremony have surfaced online from outside the venue which was held for the couple on Sunday before the wedding. In some of the clips, songs such as Besharam Rang, Humma Humma, Jumma Chumma, Jhanjariya, Dekha Jo Tujhe Yaar, and Aaj Ki Party among others can be heard. It indicates that the guests danced to these popular songs at the ceremony. Athiya’s brother Ahan and mother Mana also left everyone stunned with their performances.
It will be a low-key wedding ceremony as suggested by the bride-to-be Athiya Shetty. Reports claim that it will be attended by only 100 guests. The ceremony will take place at their Khandana farmhouse, ‘Jahan’.
The couple has imposed a no-phone policy. The names of the guest attendees include Jackie Shroff, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli.
Reports also claim that at Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul’s wedding as per the tradition, the guests will be served South Indian cuisine on banana leaves.
Their Haldi ceremony will take place today at the Shetty’s Khandala residence.
