Pathaan Review

PATHAAN (6 days to go): Tickets Worth 2 Crores Already Sold In India! Waiting for an epic comeback by “king of hearts” Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan after a gap of four long years as a lead actor, is set to spread his magic all across the globe. Everything is going in favour for the film including the negative publicity it received.

Officially, the advance booking has not yet started but the cinegoers have booked the 4 slots of a theatre in West Bengal that was listed on Book my show and all shows are in “filling fast” situation. Eventually the shows are getting listed on the ticket booking platforms bringing more excitement for the movie.

Pathaan is set for its release in 6 more days but is setting advance booking on fire. The Shah Rukh Khan starrer has already earned 2 crores gross via online ticket sales. The response for the movie is beyond imagination once the ticket sales officially kickstarts.  Looking at the recent movie craze it can be anticipated that Siddharth Anand has a blockbuster in his kitty.

Meanwhile, trade experts’ prediction for the opening day of the movie is over 35 crores which will revive Bollywood in a drastic manner. Even the overseas collection is looking promising in countries like the US, UAE, Australia and Germany.

The movie is set for its release on 25th January co-starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.

Shah Rukh Khan is considered to be India’s biggest and most loved star. His popularity is not only about films but about his charming and funny personality and the respect he has for the culture. He is always referred to as King Khan or King of Bollywood.

The 57 year old is set for his comeback after a few setbacks in his personal and professional life. The fans are frenzy after the release of the trailer which has been watched more than 49 million times on YouTube. Khan’s tweet of the trailer has had 3.9 million views and the Telugu and Tamil versions contributed an additional half a million each.

The scalability of the movie can be imagined from the response of two and a half minute trailers calling it a value for money experience by the fans.

Though the film has faced several criticism from the press and critics to the extent that protesters have torn up posters and burnt Khan’s effigies, and a petition has been filed in a court accusing the cast of hurting the sentiments of the Hindu religion and community.  The movie was called for boycott with abusive hashtags that trended on social media.

But as the countdown of release started instead of focussing on controversies Khan and the filmmakers are concentrating more on film’s promotion.

During the Fifa World Cup, footballer Wayne Rooney appeared with the actor in a short promotional video. He even went to Dubai earlier this week where he was cheered up by his fans after watching Pathaan’s trailer which was projected on the facade of Burj Khalifa.

Shah Rukh Khan played his name by portraying a romantic hero who defined love for an entire generation. And women, being a large part of his fan base, may not be interested in seeing him as an action hero.

A few days back, the actor said that he always wanted to be an action hero and that’s why Pathaan “is a dream come true for me”.
