Voice status updates rolled out by WhatsApp on the Android Beta Version

The voice note can be recorded for a maximum of 30 seconds and the user needs to update their WhatsApp version to listen to the updated voice status.

WhatsApp, a messaging platform owned by Meta is set to roll out a new “voice status update” feature on Android beta. This will allow users to update voice notes as their status.

Beta testers can now access the new feature within the text status section and share voice notes in their status update. The user will also have control over their voice recording by offering the flexibility of discarding the recording before sharing it and also, deleting it for everyone after posting it.

30 seconds is the maximum recording time for a voice note and for that users are required to update their WhatsApp version to listen to the shared voice note via status update.

The shared voice note will be end-to-end encrypted to enable the users to choose people who can listen to the status via the privacy setting.

The voice note status shared will also disappear after 24 hours similar to images and videos shared.

The new feature will be rolled out to more users in the coming weeks.
